I am now 35 years old and looking to get back in to Java development. I have 15 months of experience in Java development but that was in 2001/2002. After getting laid off in 2002 I didn't get any job in the field. after that I am working in production & planning field since then, which is not bad but my mind forces me towards Java development field. now I am now updating my J2EE skills by taking courses in college part time. and i am planning to work with some company on voluntary / internship basis. I have SCJP and SCWCD certification in 2009.
I need some advice about the job market. Is it possible to get jobs at this age.
your advice / help is greatly appreciated.

Is it possible? Anything is possible. However, it would not be an "easy" task. Actually, it would be very difficult in my opinion. Basically, you would be considered "entry-level" due to your lack of experience and would be compared to younger candidates. Moreover, the salary range for entry-level positions is another factor. It introduces a serious question as to why you would consider taking a position with an entry-level salary, and a whole bunch of other questions about your abilities, personality, work ethic, etc. It all boils down to you being a "high-risk."
I suggest that you get your mind to force you in another direction.
