I know that I have to use the debug mechanism inside eclipse, but, right now, it's kind of hard for me!
As I was used in perl, I'd like to print out *somewhere* strings like :"DEBUG - myVariabile = value".
I really don't know where to print these information!
Can I use the Console or,better, the logcat view?

I always write them to the log (using the methods on the android.util.Log class) and use the logcat viewer.

Thank you very much! I'm going to have a look into it!

One of the nice features in the Eclipse integration is that in Eclipse I can filter the logs and thus see only my log information. Comes in real handy at times.
