integating jsf with struts 1.x

Hi there, i have the requirement to upgrade a huge legacy application written with strus 1.2.8 and spring, to a newer view technology => jsf 1.2, jsf 2.0
the problem is, that i have to do that step by step. that means, struts and jsf have to run within the same applicationcontext.
can anybody tell if this is possible, or is it just a simple configuration task in web.xml.
i am grateful for any replies or examples, regards chris
