does Weblogic10.3 needs the ejb's with stub and skeleton classes?

We are migrating from weblogic9.1 to weblogic10.3. while compiling our ejb2.0 applications, I compiled the classes with javac ant task, never used the wlappc task for ejb compilation.
When I depployed the jars in weblogic10.3, it deployed without any issues and running fine.
When we were using weblogic9.1 we used wlappc for ejb compilatation and always had the stubs and skeleton in the jar.
My questions is now weblogic10.3 doesn't need the stubs and skeleton classes anymore or how does it differ from weblogic9.1 in deploying ejbs(2.0)?
