Hi all,

I am a JAVA/J2EE professional with 7 years of experience working for an MNC in chennai.
I have got an opportunity for a career in Malaysia with a networking company.
I would like to know the following from any of the fellow ranchers who are presently based out of Malaysia working in software field.

1. Given my experience, how much salary can i expect in Malaysia (eg. 8000 RM per month)
2. How is the IT field in Malaysia? (I mean how many companies etc..)
3. What is the cost of living there? Will i be able to save if i take my family there ? (Only myself & my wife )

Please let me know the details..

Thanks a lot

Yes it is a good position and something that is in high demand. You really only need certifications to backup your resume experience, which is very cheap and online. Starting with PC hardware/software (A++), then OS specialties like MSCE (mostly private business), Linux (mostly govt & maverick companies), Novell (mostly Colleges). Then the best of the best continue to Cisco Network Certification. Easy side business to shop out too. Plus you can certify for teaching as a side income.
