For my client, a large Pan-European organisation in the Avaition industry, I am looking for a GIS Developer with a very strong background in Java to begin a freelance contract position. It is based in Brussels and starts in October for one year initially, extendable up to 5 years.

Your responsibilities will include:
 Software development activities for the map components
 Bug fixing activities
 Maintenance of the map design documentation

To be eligible to apply you must have the following experience:
 GIS experience in a Java environment - preferably Luciadmap, Esri, ArcGIS or GoogleMaps
 Extensive experience in Object Oriented Analysis, design and programming
 Java - 5 years’ experience minimum
 Experience in design and development of optimized Java code, performance tuning, multithreaded applications and memory management
 Very good mathematical skills
 Experience with BEA Weblogic or similar
 Experience with open source tools based on Java, Web 2.0 technologies and IDE like Eclipse
 Experience with code generation
 Experience in unit testing
