I have good understanding about the objectives of OCEJWCD 5 and i have read Head First servlets and JSP once.
since,Orcale has launched OCEJWCD 6 .I am confused that whether i should go for the version 5 or 6
.I checked the version 6 and got to know that there are new topics and there is a lengthy section the Servlets 3.0 spec.
please advise.
Is it better to go for Version 6 or 5 ?

Hi. I am not agree with that. OCPJWCD 5 more powerfull than this new exam. Bacause minimum look at the passing score will see the difference.

True the pass rate is higher for 5 than 6. But 6 comes with the title "expert" instead of "professional", I believe the former is held in higher regard.

After OCPJP6, OCPJWCD5 looks like something is missing. And first question a recruiter will ask why didn't you go for OCEJWCD6? Then it won't be impressive to say: "Since the OCPJWCD5 was easier to pass I went for this".

It is definitely better to cover OCEJWCD6 exam? It includes latest changes in Servlet specification! It only depends if you are not "scared" to learn directly from the specification. I myself was preparing for the 5-th version but then I decided that it is better to spend few more weeks and to gain the "Expert" title

I have just started as fresher in an IT Organisation as a analyst(fresher).so,If i go for version 6 ,,iT would demand time and I dont think I would get much time after 1-2 months as then the work would get more than the usual.
please advise

Two months should be more than enough time to cover the new material if you're already familiar with V5

yes two months is enough time, in-fact I have set up a goal of 15 days for myself to cover new material. and I also work in an IT company doing 8-9 hr job.
