The first thing you are doing wrong is that apparently you are asking a question about the Spring web framework in the JSF forum. The Spring experts are over in the Spring forum.

The second thing you are doing wrong is that you are expecting the web.xml file to route a URL that was already routed to the Spring Dispatcher Servlet:


No mapping found for HTTP request with URI [/myapp/webservice] in DispatcherServlet with name 'myapp'



Once the URL has been sent to a servlet, it's up to the servlet to figure out what to do next. In this particular case, I think that means a config file used by the Spring DispatcherServlet.
