How to create scrollable images in Liferay

Hi All,
I would need to create a portal in Liferay. I am new to Liferay. Would need to include a few scrollable image in the welcome page with next, previous buttons. Can you please suggest how to create this. Do we have any inbuild option available in Liferay for this?

I searched in net for this and got few on Jquery and JS. Is his the correct approach with Liferay. If so can anyone say how to integrate a javascript/jquery scroll images to Liferay.

Any suggestion's much appreciated.
