Anyone that is worth their weight in salt would certainly not be available "immediately." And anyone that is sitting around and available "immediately" most likely is not a very good developer and is not functioning effectively at a Corporation-to-Corporation level.
To demonstrate "great" customer service, one should be looking to find the "best" candidates, not simply someone that is available.

Most of the time, there are companies that have developers sitting on a banch because they are between contracts.
