Hello,

i have to estimate the costs of redirecting user to a web Application after having accepted the terms of use related to data protection ..
the user should naturally not have the opportunity to access directly the application link so that he can overcome the acceptation af terms of use ..

Any suggestions ..?

Web Server Apache Tomcat 5.5.20

Thanks

What do you mean by "cost"?

Thanks for prompt answers ..
because i am not Tomcat specialist i would like to know how much expertise and effort we need for realising it ..

If the solution is not that complex i will be thankfull for any help ..

I'm still not sure what you are after. Are you talking about developments costs? If so, for what?

If it's the redirect, well that's one line of code.

Or are you talking about securing the entire application? Please read TellTheDetails.

So then you're only interested in the cost of implementing this feature. And not, for example, the costs incurred by deterring customers from coming to your site because they didn't want to accept the terms (or couldn't figure out how to), or the costs incurred by having a lawyer review your terms of use.

Okay. So first you figure out what you're going to do. Break it down into a list of tasks. Then for each of those tasks, identify a similar task which you have already done, and consider what the cost was to do that task. Adjust the cost for differences between the future task and the past task. Add all of those costs up and give the list to a project manager for review.

Hi Bear ,

i am speaking about the redirect function ..
but like mentioned above the user should not have the possibility to bypass the acceptation with addin the direct link to the application ..

Right. So that's done with programming and database design. I've already outlined the process for estimating programming and design tasks, so do you have a specific question?

(If your question is "How long will it take me to do that" then obviously nobody but you can answer that.)
