thank you friend, but i have referred the bookshelf even before posting this question. i couldn't find any rating for

Professional Jakarta Strutsby James Goodwill, Richard Hightower

Struts Complete Reference 1.2
by holmes

the other two have the same rating.

Struts Design and Programming
by Budi Kurniawan is not available in my hometown.

the four books that i have mentioned earlier are available. i don't know which one to buy. Atleast rate (horse shoe rating) Struts Complete Reference 1.2 and Professional Jakarta Struts.

There are a few good books out there on Struts, all released in the last year or so, that can really help you get started.

The complete Struts reference, second edition, was just released, although it is a bit complex for a beginner. It has great material:

Struts: The Complete Reference, 2nd Edition

If you combine the reference with Struts in Action, I think you'll be in really good shape:

Struts in Action: Building Web Applications with the Leading Java Framework by Ted Husted, Cedric Dumoulin, George Franciscus, David Winterfeldt, Craig R. McClanahan

Happy Struts!
