I started this topic because my wife is in the same situation. Both she and I registered for the OCMJD. I got Bodgitt and Scarper, she got URLyBird. My assignment is valid, while hers is not. She received the assignment as an instructions-111.jar file. Inside this jar, there are:
- META-INF
- db-1x1.db
- instructions.html
Her .db file is corrupt, she gets all kinds of curious values when she reads it. After some investigation, she discovered that the .db file is in fact a disguised zip/jar file. If she renamed the db-1x1.db file to db-1x1.zip, it became a valid zip file that contains META-INF and instructions.html once again. There is obviously something wrong here. The questions is what to do. If she downloads the assignment again, the same corrupt file would come down, and the instructions.html file contains who2contact@sun.com at the end as the address to write to in case problems appear, but this address must obviously be obsolete now, since Sun is not in charge of Java certifications anymore, right?
