i am trying to write a servlet which is called for all the URLs but launches a username, password popup for a few URLs.
all what i have done is :

the problem is when i am trying to do this it doesn't launch challenge.xml but when in web.xml i give servlet-mapping as "/test" instead of "/*" it works , and in logs i see doget() method being called two times as printing url http://localhost:8080/proj/test and then http://localhost:8080/proj/challenge.html,
how it can be resolved?

So what happens when you give servlet-mapping as "/*"
Which page shows up on the front end? What gets logged in the servlet logs?

Cheers - Sam.
