Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining but what do you guys make of this?

I attempted to finish my completed assignment Wed evening. I get a message saying my voucher was invalid. I purchased the voucher from Sun back in December of last year. The next day I raise some hell like any last minute Java guy does. I found out that Prometric didn't release my personal information to PearsonVue. I emailed oracle cert team with my completed assignment Thursday morning. I get an email at 2:30 am Friday morning with the new voucher to upload it. So I upload the assignment and from 8-to 10 am I'm looking for a testing facility to write the essay. I finished the essay at 3PM.

For laughs, i decided to see if the test was registered under Certview. What do I see?!?!? My Developer logo with the assignment marked yesterday.

I wish you guys the best in a speedy pass from Oracle and PearsonVue.

Seems Oracle is making a real mess from this certification. There are people who are waiting for more than 3 months for their result. And now they are marking assignment in one day. Seems very fast (and thus weird) to me, so maybe it's a mistake. I know I kept checking my score for the next 2 weeks because I thought they made a mistake with my grade (perfect score).

I would send them an e-mail and ask for a confirmation, because 1 day is really, really, really fast

Did you not receive a score report at the test centre? Did it not contain information about how would you be notified about your result? I would take a read before sending any email...

I'm just glad I took this certification in the old Sun days.

Hi Mike,

Same happened to me with my SCEA submission. I submitted the assignment on 29th night, and sat for the essay exam on 30th morning. By 30th evening, I saw that my assignment was marked as passed in CertView. And I can download the OCM logo and under success kits, OCMJEA is listed with 30th as the creation date.

But I did not receive an email from Oracle saying I have passed. Did you get an email?

What is the status of your exam\assignment in Pearson VUE?

@Sean,

It shows all three exams of SCEA as Taken. Since I have passed the first one (MCQ), I think it shows 'Taken' for all past exams that I have taken (whether pass, fail or pending). I'm not sure though. I haven't taken any other certification with Pearson before.

When you click on "View Score Report" for the Part 3. What does the PDF that opens up say?

It's the standard report that we all get once we complete the essay exam, saying that it will take 4-6 weeks to mark the assignment and an email will be sent after it's complete. In the meantime, according to the report, CertView should display the result as Pending.

True. But does it really matter? Pearson VUE have already told you how you will be notified. You haven't been notified yet. So what's the concern?

I've checked out the PearsonVue site and the test are still marked as "Taken". In any case, Oracle was notified and they say they were sending out the success package on Monday.

Oracle was notified by whom and what did they notify Oracle about?

Your Pearson VUE report clearly outlines how you will be notified about your result. So not quite sure what the concern is?

I have submitted my scjd assign in the 25th September and taken the exam in the 29th September. In the certview my Master Assignment Exam is "Taken". How could you get your result in one day?

That shows a totally lack of criteria and respect from the Oracle and Pearson Vue for the other persons who submitted and taken the exam assignment much time before us.

What is the objective? To give less credibility to the Certification?

Oracle lost their credibility with me when introducing the mandatory class requirement.

Not happy about it at all & to add insult to injury they take 1/4 of a year to mark assignments.

It's put me off Java, going to investigate Python, PHP & C++

The mandatory course requirement was the "icing on the cake" as a method to get more money from us with less value from their part.

What to I gain as an individual developer who wants to pursue an assignment with a project submission by taking some courses about stuff that I know well?

It simply doesn't make sense. Oracle is doing damage with the language. For example, Java 7 is a minor update to the language.. Where is a Multi Core optimized standard library? Etc etc.... Oracle = Greedy with Money company.

If I was going to revise for a certification I would be better of buying books & experimenting with the concepts myself.

Going to a course would not be very helpful in my opinion

Courses would make only sense as optional.

Don't get me wrong, I have no concerns. I just found it odd. I was expecting to wait 4-6 weeks to get my results back then find out I passed. Again, no concerns, I was just curious how well I did percentage wise vs just a "PASS."

Did you already got the e-mail you should get with the pass/fail grade? That's what you should get to inform you (and if you take a look at the 3 people who started a "passed ocmjd" topic yesterday they all got an e-mail).
Someone was even capable to get an actual score (which would be a good thing if everybody could do this).

After reading this thread I checked my Pearson account and I found that I have passed

I did not receive any email from Oracle (nor Pearson for that matter), I uploaded my assignment on September 22 and sat for the essay on September 26 (I'm not sure when I received the passing score).

My score is available on Pearson account; the Exam History shows two items, one for the essay and the other for the assignment, clicking on the assignment's "View Score Report" opens a pdf with the total score (no details of the sections).

In addition to the total score, the pdf basically says the following:

Congratulations! You have achieved the highest level of Java Certification one can achieve. You are among the
elite group of individuals who can call themselves a Java Standard Edition 6 Developer Certified Master. Your new
Java Standard Edition 6 Developer Certified Master credential is being processed. This credential will be mailed to
you at the address we have on file for you in your testing profile. Please check your profile at
http://certview.oracle.com for your most current mailing address.
Details of a passing score are not displayed in order to maintain test security. This score report is the only
information you will be provided.
On behalf of Oracle University, congratulations!

By the way, I got 380/400
I have not asked any question on the forum, but I found in it the answer for every thing that crossed my mind, many thanks to all of you guys.
