I know this is not an explicit requirement, but is it recommended? E.g having a design decision section in index.html file.

Thanks Will. Could you please elaborate on this? So your saying I would speak about why I chose one web framework over another in the assumptions?
Or for example why I chose to use a certain something for database clustering,in assumptions etc?

I did in mine - I explained why I chose JSF over JSPs in my assumptions for example

I provided an Architecture Overview section where I described important things about: JEE Design and Architecture Overview, Design Patterns, Session Management and how did I meet the NFRs.
