Regex, is forward slash the problem ?

}

it never matches ... what am I overlooking ?

solution:

Pattern p = Pattern.compile("src=\\s*\"/images");
			Matcher m = null;
	   	       m = p.matcher(line);
	       if (m.find()){
	           System.out.println("MATCHES");
	       }

is compilation the problem?

String line won't compile

I think the problem is that we were not shown the real code; I suspect there was a real quote at the end, after that escape-quote.
