Just came across this thread somewhere this morning. Wanted to know the opinion of fellow ranchers on what they think are the greatest riffs.

Here a few great riffs that I can think of off the top of my head:

1) Back in Black- Ac/Dc
2) Enter Sandman - Metallica
3) Eruption - Eddie Van Halen
4) Iron Man - Black Sabbath
5) Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
6) Cocaine - Eric Clapton
7) Kashmir - Jimmy Page
8) Crazy Train - Ozzy Osborne
9) Sweet Chile o' mine- Slash

I'll probably add on a few more later..

From what I've read/heard, the guitar riff on "Sweet Child O' Mine" came from Slash practicing a finger exercise. The whole band originally though it was a joke.

The mind is a strange and wonderful thing. I'm not sure that it will ever be able to figure itself out, everything else, maybe. From the atom to the universe, everything, except itself.

What about "Satisfaction"? Too obvious? You've somehow left off Jimi Hendrix too.
I agree. Here's the link:
