Hi Java Lovers

I would like to be aware of gamut of Java

Could you please help me out

1> Web (Web Sites)

I would like to know its use in critical machines like defense sector. Is it widely used in that sector or is just limited to Web ?

Will Real Time Java be a boom or is it only the web which is earning revenue for java i.e (web is the only sector where it is widely used)

Thanks

Well here might be a good place to start, and this page shows Java running about neck-and-neck with C at the top of the heap.

As to the rest of your questions: Google is your friend. Just remember that anything you read is probably biased (as would most likely be the majority of answers you'll get here), so use your own judgement.

That's a false choice. Java is also used in application servers handling non-UI tasks, and as the backend (not to mention frontend) of desktop apps, in addition to web apps. Real-time Java has limited applications, but then, just about any language's real-time applications are limited :-)

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
