Mark Cade's deployment diagram - load balancer for clustered databases?

Mark Cade's deployment diagram doesn't show a load balancer for the clustered databases.

Do you think we will have problems if we don't show this? I simply have a firewall for the databases, but no load balancer.

I dont see that very often having a load balancer for the database.
I think the best way when you have multiple database instances is to use the built-in clustering features.
From your application server this is transparent, everything will happen as if there is only one database instance.
