Hi Robin,

The support for HTML5(Chrome is OK) in Android Phones and Tablets depends only in the browser, what about the hardware?

Well, as far as I know the canvas element, for example, is only hardware accelerated on Windows Phone 7. Unfortunately I do not cover that device in my book (but hope to for a second edition). So we are stuck with software implementations for now on iOS and Android. The following web page (admitedly based on figure from Microsoft) shows how much better WP7 is supposed to perform, with WP7 being ten times faster than the iPhone 4, and twice as fast as the Android Nexus S: http://www.winrumors.com/microsoft-benchmarks-windows-phone-browser-against-iphone-4-and-android-wins/

My latest book, The Web Developer's Cookbook, is now out: http://webdeveloperscookbook.com
