I want to remotely connect to my computer at home and wanted to know should I use a free VPN service (Could you please recommend appropriate services)

OR

Do I set up the port forwarding on my router and use Microsoft's own Remote Desktop?

Thanks

You could use TeamViewer. In my opinion is the best of it's kind. Also, you have the ability to make a start-up entry for it, then set a master-password, which then can be used to connect to your computer from everywhere. Try it! If you can't manage to do it, reply, and I'll post a step-by-step guide
