I have db params in properties file.. at startup i need to encrypt the sensitive data and overwrite the properties file (with encrypted values). and while getting the db connection i need to decrypt internally and use for connection.
I am using spring web services.

Any suggestions please.

I would suggest you to implement a simple encryption and decryption algorithms and use it only for specific properties, this is how I followed in one of the project.

Here is the approach:

if any property value starts with enc:, then write a logic to decrypt before use it. Hope this helps.
