Hi,

i am trying to establish the jdbc connection using sql server 2000 and i am using winows 7 operating system and jdk 1.6. when i run the application it is giving the following exception

Hello Ganesh Sharma Balijapalli, welcome to JavaRanch.

Maybe your firewall is blocking the SqlServer port.

Thank you for your reply, i have disabled firewall and run the application but still it is giving the same exception.
do i have any alternate solution for this?

Maybe your url database has a connection is different configurations from your instaled SQLServer.

Have you confirmed that SQL Server is actually listening at the port which you specified in your database connection? (By default SQL Server doesn't accept TCP/IP connections, a configuration change has to be made to allow it to do that.)
