I am new to web services and am planning to learn and take up the certification.

I have gone through this forum and have the necessary theoretical content to prepare. But I would also like to practice web services extensively with examples. Can someone please suggest me any tutorial which provide good step-by-step tutorial to build webservices (detailed steps). I would like to cover different types of implementations also.

Regards
Shobhana

I suggest the book Java Web Services: Up & Running. I can't find any good tutorial on the web too.

Is that book still relevant since it's old?

The basics are explained very well in the book. To read it is worth it.

Hi!
First, there are a section with web service tutorials at netbeans.org:
http://netbeans.org/kb/trails/web.html
Second, my SCDJWS/OCPJWSD 5 book contains many complete examples and it is absolutely free:

Best wishes!
