Am I ready for SCJP?

Hi All,
I am new to This Forums, And my question is about SCJP,
I have completed Kathy Sierra SCJP 1.6 Book and also did some moke test and completed Khalid Mughal SCJP 1.6.
With having 1.5 Year Experience in the same field, Now my question is, Is it right time to do the exam or I have to wait for
2 Years Experience. And If it's right time to take the exam then SCJP 6 is ok or I have to go for SCJP 7. If SCJP 7 then how to
do preparation for it?
If any mistakes in words please do modify it.

Subodh Ray,
Remember that any SCJP/OCPJP certification is required for taking OCP for Java EE 5 Component/OCM for Java Developer/Java EE OCE certifications.
You better take OCPJP 6 (SCJP 6) to get this per-requisite advantage.
To attend OCPJP 7 you must complete OCAJP 7 (you need to take two exams).

...there is no need to wait for two years experience.
If you have enough time for studying for a certification, you should
go for the exams right away. It is a good experience and a valid
addition to your cv. If you don't have much time, I'd suggest to plan
for an exam in a couple of months and study a bit every day.
JavaRanch was a great help when I had to certify.
