Code Generation/Productivity tools

Howdy,

I'm looking for a good code generation tool to generate code from UMLs, database schema, etc. to reduce development effort in day to day repetitive tasks. Anyone got past experience with any such tools (or know of some good tools), maybe some IDE extensions or separate tools. Even if its paid that's fine. I've googled a lot but its hard to find tools which are actually productive and have a small learning curve

Thanks in advance.

I have heard of Visual Paradigm but never had hands-on experience.

Thanks Akhilesh, that tool looks interesting. It seems to be able to generate classes from Class diagrams but for the rest it can generate UML diagrams from code not vice-versa. I've used StarUML in the past for this kind of stuff but that one lacks support for generics and annotations (at least the version I used) and used to fail while reverse engineering classes that had generics or annotations...

I have used Enterprise Architecture, which can generate code from UML and vice-versa. In my opinion, it is better than StarUML but it is not free.

I am glad Ankit, that you found it interesting, I have never used it though. I will download and check StarUML. Thanks.

Did you use StarUML to generate code from UML?

Thanks Haina that one seems complicated but more powerful. I'll download a trial version and see what its got...
