I think you are assuming facts not in evidence. The song says she is a widow, and has been married seven times. But perhaps she had six divorces and only the most recent husband died.

It's still creepy. Being married seven times and going for the eighth is already bad enough, but all of them had the same given name? Yikes! We know she buried at least one of them, so Henry "The Eighth" really should be asking some pointed questions before rushing into anything. Hey, Ben Cartwright is a single dad by the time we know him, and he only managed to get up to three wives before the ladies of the Nevada territory just collectively said, "Yeah, no thanks."
