Java developer Job for Part time or Contribute

Hello,

I am a B.E graduate in CSE and have one 1+ experience in Java/J2EE web application development.I am looking for projects to contribute and improve my skills at the same time.(part time or open source)This would really help me a lot in understanding over the language and framework. I am very keen in knowing things and understanding.

Title: Java Developer with 1+ year Experience

Content: I am a Java Developer with 1+ years of experience, presently located in India (Bangalore).I will be obliged if anyone can contact me via private messages.

My skills are :

Primary Skills: Java, J2EE
Operating Systems: Windows 2000/XP/Ubuntu 10/Linux Mint 10
Languages: Java 6.0
Client/Server Technologies: Servlets 2.5 , JSP 2.0
Framework: Struts 2.0, Spring 2.5
Middleware: JPA
ORM: Hibernate 3.4
Databases: Oracle 10g
Application Servers: JBoss 4.2.3
Development Tools: Eclipse 3.6, Toad 8.6 ,Log 4j 1.2
Testing Tools: JUnit 4.8
Scripts: JavaScript
Database Connectivity: JDBC

Arun,

your post drag me back some 9 years back when i first started my job search in Bangalore in 2002.
It is not very easy to contribute to open source projects as you need to uderstand them first and you need to suggest the changes you need to implement and this needs approval from the project manager of that project.
I would say you spent more time in completing yous java certifications and then start the job search extensively.Certfications improve your chance to get a job significantly(at least in India)
And you will have more java knowledge when you prepare for a Certifcations.
If you havent got a job throgh Campus then i would suggest you to try job application to small companies (which some time dont pay well) and look for big one after you got some experience.

Its really difficult getting one of this kind.

I have been trying such kind of jobs unsuccessfully for last one year.
