Hi

I just completed part 1. Thanks to all who helped me out with my questions

My understanding is that I now need to schedule and purchase the essay exam.

When I go to pearson vue they have the following 2 options:
(1) 1Z0-866 Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam
(2) 1Z0-866-JPN Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam

What is the significance of the JPN. Is this to sit the essay part in Japanese?

I assume when I purchase the essay exam I will get an option to download the assignment - is this correct?

First of all congratulations on your SCEA part 1 completion

(2) 1Z0-866-JPN Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam

I think you need to complete(purchase, download & submit) the assignment (part 2) before you appear for essay (part 3). The three parts of SCEA are,

1Z0-864 - Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam (Step 1 of 3)
1Z0-865 - Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3)
1Z0-866 - Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam (Step 3 of 3)

the one which you mentioned

(2) 1Z0-866-JPN Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam

might be in Japanese or some other language, not in English.
If you are not completed 1Z0-865 (part 2), then complete that and you can appear for 1Z0-866 (part 3)

Thanks for the response. What is confusing me is that if I log on to Pearsonvue I cannot see any reference to 1Z0-865 - Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3)

I do see 1Z0-866 - Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Essay Exam. Hence I was wondering if I purchase/schedule this will I get the link to the assignment because at the minute I don't see how I can download the assignment from

Hi Joe,

Yes, if you login normally you won't see the assignment exam (there are called non-proctored) and I am not sure why?. Following these steps to download the assignment.

STEP1 - Click this to go to Pearson oracle non proctored exams page

STEP2 - Click "Master Assignments - available in English only" link in Non-Proctored section

STEP3 - It will ask you login credentials. Enter your Pearson login credentials.

STEP4 - It will now show the list of Non-Proctored assignments. Now select the exam "1Z0-865 Java Enterprise Edition 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Assignment (Step 2 of 3)" from the list and you can pay.

STEP5 - Once you done with payment etc, it will give you option of starting. Click start and it will provide you the option to download the assignment. Once you download the PDF click pause and start working on your assignment

Once you are done with the assignment, then again continue the same exam in Pearson website and it will provide you the option to unload.
