Software/solution Designer Vs Architect

I have been asked this question multiple times in Interview. I know there is a thin line of separation between them but not very sure.
If you can share your view on this it will helpful.

I generally think of a software/solution designer as someone who is likely taking direction from and working with an architect to flesh out more specific details surrounding a particular area.
