Timer thread gets Exception when the Syste time is changed

following is code of simple timer thread it exits when system time is updated

int delay = 1000; // delay for 3 sec.
	    int period = 1000; // repeat every 1 sec.
	    timerioim = new Timer();
	     
	    
	    	
		    	timerioim.scheduleAtFixedRate(new TimerTask() {
				      public void run() {
				    	 try{
				    		 
				    		 
				    		 setDefaultIOIM();
				    		 
				    		 
				    	      
				    	    }catch(Exception e)
				    	    {
				    	      e.printStackTrace();
				    	    }
				      }
				    }, delay, period);

what should i do to prevent it
