Hello,
When I google for certifications that are required for an Architect, I could see several, such as
  • OCMJEA
  • Certified Srum Master
  • Agile certification
  • IBM Certified Solution Designer - Object Oriented Analysis and Design, vUML 2
  • IBM Certified Solution Designer -- Rational Software Architect
  • IBM Certified Solution Designer - IBM Rational Unified Process V7.0
  • ITIL
  • PMP

  • not sure whether there are more to add to the list.

Please suggest ALL the architect level certifications helpful for an architect today and relevance or importance of each one.

It would more appreciable if the order of taking the certifications is mentioned.

    Regards,
    ManoshP

You have listed multiple certifications that, while useful for an architect, are not not "required". As an example, both PMP and Scrum Master certifications are useful, however I would expect PMP aspirants to be heading down a management route. Similarly scrum master certification is really useful for all members of an organization, but I would not expect an architect to work as the scrum master for any team.

I think your question is a bit broad at present - you might want to narrow it down a bit.

    Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for the quick response.
In some sites (like linkedin) I could see profiles of architects holding the PMP or managers holding the SCEA..this confused me.. so added all.
Anyway I am looking for certifications specific to architects and at the same time other supporting certifications.

It would be nice if you could prioritize those certifications needed for an architect and briefly mention the importance of each?

I believe you got my points.

    Thanks,
    ManoshP

My Idea while choosing any Certification.
    1. What is my carrier path (Technical /management?)
    2. What are my current skills?
    3. What is my future immediate Target/Goal?
If I want to be both Technical /management, then first I will complete certification which is related to my current skills and to my carrier path then I will think about other certifications.
I would like to do my certification which will give value add to my current job/future job search.
You are not comparing with apples to apples.
Suppose currently if I am tech lead/architect then I will do SCEA or
If I am project Lead/PM I will do PMP which will add value to current job/future job search
Just think what is your immediate goal /next role in your job, then choose the right certification.

I agree with Andrew. Further "IBM Certified Solution Designer -- Rational Software Architect" is a product certification. It's not an architecture tool. It is an IDE for design and development.
