<h:inputText> rendering problem in JSF1.2

i'm using jsf1.2 with richfaces3.3 running on a glassfish server
i have an issue with respect to firefox, chrome and safari...
when i key in data on page1 and submit a request based on successful validation i go to page2, now if i hit browser back button it takes me to page1.
IE looks good and shows the data on page1 but other browsers will not show the data instead it show blank components...
Has any one came across this issue... if so could you please guide me in a right direction...
by the way i have used <redirect/> for each navigation to show the current url.
i did try to look at the html code after the page is rendered and i see there is no value attribute for these input text boxes...
