I am new to tomcat , I have a war that I need to deploy on tomcat , please guide me how to do this in detail steps..!! thanks

Copy the war file into the TOMCAT_HOME/webapps directory. Done. More detail is at: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/appdev/index.html

Hi Tim,

Could you please guide the instructions that need to follow after that I mean how to hit the browser in order to see the output of war..??

The Tomcat Manager application will show you what has been deployed. Setting that up is also in the Tomcat's documentation. I suggest reading the documentation before posting a question.
