URL without "www"

some URL does not have "WWW" ,what it is meant?

https://xxxx.com

if a URL has the below syntax means what?

https://www.xxx.com

www is just a convention. It is not obligatory

It's important to note that xxxx.com and www.xxxx.com need not be the same server; that they usually are is just a convention, too.

But if add "www" in the URl ,it does not work

If i try "https://xxxx.com" it works

but if i try "https://www.xxxx.com" or "www.xxxx.com" it does not work

There's nothing special about "www". It's not a different syntax. It's just very common to prefix web addresses with it. It isn't compulsory.
