Why does Tomcat in Eclipse suddenly stop being able to find the webpages when NOTHING changes?

Hello. I'm running Tomcat in Eclipse and using JSP pages. A problem I've been consistently running into for over a month is that even after everything's been working fine on a dynamic web project, with the Tomcat server in Eclipse being able to find my JSP pages just fine, suddenly and without anything in the project whatsoever changing, I suddenly start running into a bunch of 404 errors. The pages are defined and referenced within the project's folder, not off on some other server or something like that. Furthermore I cannot overstate the fact that this often happens when NOTHING about the project has changed - Tomcat just mysteriously goes from working to not working. At this point the only way I've found to get Tomcat working again is to eliminate the server, clone the project, and clone the server. What gives?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
