Can anyone help me or guide me in creating a stand alone application (J2SE) using Swing that connects into a UNIX box.?

This will be actually my first time to create one 'cause I'm really into web systems applications like J2EE, not into Java Swing.

To start of, I need to know some codes on how to connect into a UNIX box. I already have the details 'cause I am using Putty in connecting to a UNIX box.
But now, I need to create one Java Swing application that connects into UNIX and execute some UNIX commands particularly vi editor. (I need to edit some files in UNIX using vi editor.)

I need to all these stuffs:
-the connecting to UNIX box
-the editing of UNIX files
in the Java application.

Any sites/tutorials you can recommend will be much appreciated. Thank you!
