Subreport in Ireports with different datasource

I want to display subreport (which has its own datasource) in master report which is using(empty datasource).
both work fine individually (without subreport in master report)

but as soon i insert the subreport the compiled report shows blank page..

could anyone tell me how to pass a datasource other than empty datasource to the sub report...

if both master and subreport has the same datasource then i can pass the connection as $P{REPORT_CONNECTION}. but what should i do for different datasource of subreport
