About NEW "Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect "

OMG, Oracle charging too much ($3,200) for 1st step (Training) now just only for 4 days…This is not a good way to earn money…If Oracle needs more money, they should do something else in their main business…In this way, how many people will go for this certification...They should either remove this step or lower the fee if they want to give certificates to peoples….I don’t think more and more people will think about this certificate now….

Is there any way, You can skip the step 1 (Training) and directly go to other 3 steps….like peoples have more than 10 Years of Exp, what they will learn in these Trainings, They already know what the instructor will teach, even more than 60% people know more than the Instructor at this exp level…In 90% cases, Instructor will be a person, who didn’t get a good job in IT and then moved to teaching in IT so that type of people know only theoretical (bookish) knowledge, don’t know how to implement the technology practically in real world applications….

What if a person already cleared 1st step (multiple choice paper) and did not appeared in 2nd & 3rd (Assignment and Essay) steps before Oracle changed this certification path (I think Oct 2011)…like, I cleared 1st Step in 2009 and was planning to clear Assignment and Essay later and now I am thinking about the same, but shocked with the fee for 1st step….Is my 1st Step still valid with this new structure or I need to start from Training….

Any information/help….

Even if step 1 is cleared prior, you need to take mandatory training to finish the certification. May be you can complete even step 2 and 3 as well but at what point of time Oracle will check to see whether the mandatory training is not known. Is it a first step to evaluate the assignment? but I have seem a posting where the assignment was graded without going through the training but certificate was not been issued.

That's correct. You can take all three parts and get grades. You will not get the actual certification without taking the class.

Hi Naresh, Jeanne, thanks for the reply...Nice to see sharing your experience with others....please reply if you guys know where should we can write to oracle to ask something more about the certification...like i cleared part 1 before oracle changed the path of SCEA...I came into knowledge, we can attend training at any point of time...even after clearing all three parts...Its a little bit relief to candidates from oracle as a candidate can be sure to attend the training and spend $3k+ to get certification, otherwise results of all 3 parts is enough…
