issue with tomcat 6

Hi ,

I was trying to configure the tomcat 6 from within eclipse indigo version 7 and then from within eclipse i have started the server also now when i hit the browser and type http://localhost:8080/console I get nothing but if I start my tomcat 6 from outside that is thru it's batch file and then it the same url on browser then it shows the console page...please guide me why this happens..?

I have the same problem. Looks like Eclipse launches Tomcat in a special mode in which the admin/console is not available.

"Eclipse" doesn't do Tomcat. Tomcat support for Eclipse comes from a Tomcat plugin.

Unfortunately, the plugin that comes with the standard J2EE bundle for Eclipse (WTP) is not very transparent, which is why I don't use it. I use the sysdeo Tomcat plugin, instead.
