How to set the java application as a background proces

Hi All, I am doing standalone application in java using socket communication(Client Server Application), MY client application will run almost 200 machines. My requirement is to run my java application as a background procesing instead of running in command prombs , unexpectedly the user cancelled the Command promb means my application wont run. my application has to run while system is start up. please give share your idea to solve this . Thanks in Advance ..

There is for example Apache Commons Daemon which allows you to run a Java application as a Windows service or a Unix background process. This is what is used for example for Apache Tomcat to make it run as a Windows service.
