Heap Dump in jdk1.4.2

Hi

I am using weblogic integration platform running jdk1.4.2_11. And we are facing OOM issues.
Hence I want an heap dump to analyse.
But the option -XX:-HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError does not work. Nor does HAT.
Tried to generate a heap with JMAP. But the heap dump does not open in HAT/MAT,IBM HA etc.

No monitors work due to lack of JMX. Kindly help as how I can get a proper heap dump.

Thanks
Deepak

Load the heap dump in visual VM (supplied with newer JDK should load the older hprof) or there is a nice Eclipse plugin MAT with leak suspects report.

Might be worth looking for the leak with a newer JVM (doesn't mean you have to ship it).

Hi chris.

I Noticed by studying the GC logs that the problem was the Permgen maxing out.
On profiling I noticed that the CGLib generated classes for hibernate required more permgen space.

I increased the permgen , and this seems to have subsided the problem.

Thanks
Deepak
