The 1995 book "Industrial Strength C++" from Mats Henricson and Erik Nyquist has been the booster for me to focus more on the quality perspective of programming.
You might not be programming in c++ and you might think that 1995 is a long time ago. Think again. The book is full of valuable guidelines that improve the sustainability of your writing.

And... since the book is no longer available in print, the authors have made it available in electronic format.
