What book to use in order to get ready fro SCWCD/OCPJWCD certifaction?

I found this guide to get ready for the SCWCD/OCPJWCD certifcation

but I wonder, if someone can give me an advice on which guide I should use?

This is for the old certification. If you want to go for the current certification, Murach's Servlet and JSP will be better...at least until the new version of the book you mentioned comes to market

because it focuses more on the exam rather than adding add on topics which aren't included in the OCPJWCD exam like
JavaMail, JDBC and it isn't IDE dependent which is absolutely out of the exam!
moreover, the authors were involved in developing the SCWCD 5 exam so they know what to put in.

the Murach is more on development rather than the exam.

Hi All,

I am going through 2nd edition of Head First SErvlets and JSP. It a good book to follow. It makes learning really fun. Not sure if this is the right book for Web Component Developer Java 6?

Will appreciate responses and comments.

Unfortunately, there is no book that is specifically focused on the current version of this certification, available in the market. I do not recommend using the book you mentioned for the current version of the certification because there are several changes in the specification which may cost you dearly in the exam. It is better to read a book that is based on the same version of the specification that the exam is based on until a certification specific book becomes avaiable.

I'm still reading that book. Could you please tell us clearly how would it affect our preparation for the latest version of exam? Since there are no certification books available yet for the latest version of the exam, could you please suggest us some alternatives? Any non-certification oriented books?

Faisal, I already suggested another non-certification oriented book in my first post. To clarify again, I suggested this book because there is no certification book focused on the new version of the certification in the market as of today.

There are so many enhancements/new features/changes in the specification and they are all included in the new version of the exam. You may want to compare the objectives of the old and new version of the exam to get an idea. Specifically, the new annotations touch pretty much all aspects of servlets. You will obviously not find any information about it in the old certification books.

So again, I seriously do not recommend using pervious version certification book for the current version of the exam.
