Need Input on Drag and Drop Feature feasibility in - Groovy on grails

Am newbie to Groovy on grails.

Can any one let me know the feasibility of the below requirement,


Application containing drag and drop features.. i.e.,

The drag and drop of the components like Button, Check-box, radio..etc (All form elements) --> PANE 1

into the different pane or window --> PANE 2

and need to identify the element dropped in the PANE2


Please let me know, What the features i should implement to design the above mentioned requirement?

Drag and Drop feature is mostly client centric and you would have to explore such possibilities using jQuery or other Javascript frameworks. You can always use any backend framework (grails or others) if at all required.

I have never tried this, but jQuery is quite popular, but you can find lot of them like YUI, Dojo and others. We do have a javascript related forum, if I have understood your requirement correctly and your requirement mostly deals with drag and drop on the webpage and not specific to Grails, then I can move this post there for you. (But please avoid reposting the same query).
