Hello friends, I downloaded tomcat7.0 version to my Windows Vista 32bit OS sys.
I am writing the details as to what I downloaded and what the error is. Please help me as I am stuck with this since 3 days.
I downloaded the following
apache-tomcat-[version]-windows-x86.zip
32-bit Windows specific distribution that includes the Windows service wrapper and the compiled APR/native library for use with 32-bit JVMs on both 32 and 64 bit Windows platforms.
I tried to run the startup.bat that is in the tomcat bin directory at command prompt and it says
"the JRE_HOME environment variable is not defined correctly. This environment variable is needed to run this program"
I set the Environment variable as follows
1. JRE_HOME
C:\PROGRAMFILES\JAVA\JRE6
2. JAVA_HOME
C:\PROGRAMFILES\JAVA\JDK1.6.0_30
3. CLASSPATH
C:\PROGRAMFILES\JAVA\JDK1.6.0_ 30\JRE\LIB\RT.JAR
4. PATH
C:\APP\TOMCAT6.0\APACHE- TOMCAT-7.0.25\BIN
This is what I read should be set. please see and let me know what could be the problem.
thank you
sirisha
If you worry you cannot work... If you work you need not worry
Hi all, the Tomcat is working. I read the RUNNING.TXT file that comes with download and it helped me. Also at dos prompt i run catalina.bat and it showed me all teh envi vables that it set and then I run some config debugger file I think and probably it rectified the problme. Thank you for taking time.
