Does anybody know if there is a Time limit on when you can take the required training for the Developer certification?
I was looking at taking the new "Java 7 New Features" Oracle training in March, so that it can serve two purposes, one prepare me for the Java 7 Upgrade Exam, and two, meet the Developer Exam Requirement. If I was to take the class in March, but not do the Developer Exam until say 2013, would it still count as the training, or would I have to take another course?

Hi,
As of now, if a candidate has completed one of training course even before Oracle-SUN transition, that training is still valid for OCMJD (i.e. candidate do not have to attend it again). Please check this.
So, logically speaking, there does not seem to be any time limit, but I would strongly suggest to get assertion for this from Oracle University personnel.

I think it makes no difference when in time you have followed a Sun or Oracle course (as you can also read in the FAQ on the link provided in previous post). But like they add courses to the list of approved courses, I also think they can remove some courses and in that case you'll probably have to follow another one (which is on the list).

I also plan on taking the same course in March. Its half the price of the other courses and only 2 days. Hopefully it will stay on the list of courses till then.
