Date is automatically trimming in ie9,chrome and firefox

Hi i have a problem with date field in my project developed our seniors. It has a date field when click on this i have to enter date like this "dd/mm/yyyy" format wwhen it loses focus it is trimming last letter.
my code is

When I see this:

var isNav4 = false, isNav5 = false, isIE4 = false 

, I cringe. Those browsers are 11 years old. Look for some new code that is up to date.

What is that code doing for you? I do not want to go through it all and figure it out.
