Hi Nitesh,

It generally happens when one studies only using dumps, or does less hands-on, or gets out of touch.

The more hands-on we do, less is the chance to forget what we study.

Btw, the question is confusing - if a candidate forgets what he/she has studied for exam during long run then it's that candidate's problem, and it has got nothing to do with worth of certification.

I hope this helps.

I do work in Core Java, so even today I'm in touch

Now, since my daily work is not in servlet/jsp, I'm not in touch with it; but its fine. Since I did understood almost everything during SCWCD preparation, it won't take more than 2 weeks to get back in touch

That depends. If you are already working in Java, or know Java, then try solving some sample questions and you'll come to know the areas in which you need more/less preparation.

If you are complete newbie, start with OO concepts first. In such case, I guess 12-15 weeks should suffice. I was new to Java when I started SCJP preparation, and it took me around 6 weeks.

I agree. Here's the link: http://zeroturnaround.com/jrebel - it saves me about five hours per week
